Rumpelstiltskin stood just inside the building for some minutes, away from the door so that no one should happen by and see him. Belle was waiting for him at the library, keeping herself busy rather than waiting in the car and worrying. He was only a few short minutes shy of being late, and part of him still weighed how much he could possibly lose by slipping out the back and avoiding this meeting altogether. For all Belle's assurances, he still didn't know what to expect. A minute passed, and he relented, picking his way up to Hopper's office.
When he came to this door to glean advice from a still-cursed Archie Hopper regarding August -- then thought to be Baelfire -- it was hardly his last, as he continued to collect rent from many people in Storybrooke right up until the curse broke. But for the fact that he had no cane in his hand (that he somewhat missed, now), it was such a familiar path to follow, as though he was in only just last week to collect payment. Now, he wasn't really the one collecting.
It was a full twenty-three seconds past the start of his session when he finally swallowed his pride and knocked.
